     In April 1959 representatives from the associations of nobility from Belgium, France, Italy, Russia and Germany  as well as representatives from Austria decided the establishment of a European Commission of the Nobility under the name of C.I.L.A.N.E. (La noblesse lituanienne et ses descendants).

     It must be stated from the outset that the C.I.L.A.N.E. is not a "European Association of the Nobility". It is designed foremost for the exchange of experiences and information about developments in its members associations. It is therefore that CILANE has no "President" but rather a Cordinator elected for three years. His role is to prepare and conduct the spring and autumn sessions of the CILANE and to carry out its decisions. The spring session takes traditionally in Paris, the seat of the CILANE. In autumn the sessions are held in one of the other member countries. There are 13 Associations members: Belgium, France, Italie, Russia, Germany,  Spain, Switzerland, Portugal, Sweden, Finland, Netherlands, Papal Nobility, United Kingdom.

     Each of the presently 14 Associations members - since 1959 Belgium, France, Italy, Russia and Germany as well as representatives from Austria (until 1976), 1981 Spain, 1983 Switzerland, 1985 Portugal, 1990 Sweden, 1995 Finland, 1996 the Netherlands and the Papal Nobility, 1997 the United Kingdom and in 2004 Denmark - sebd one delegate and a representative of the youth to the meetings.

September 8th -11th 2005

     J.Ragauskas, Head of Vilnius regional chapter and A.Stankus, Head of Taurage regional chapter were confirmed to be delagates to 2005 CILANE congress; LRUN member Ilona Sapinska-Kliuèinskaitė, who lives in Poland joined our delegates to CILANE on September 8th -11th 2005.

      A welcome reception was organized to our delegates first evening at the Hague, by W.J. Deetman, for all the participants in the historic 'Oude Stadthuys' at the Groenmarkt, Grote Halstraat 1 in tghe Hague. Excursions through diferent parts of the Netherlands took up a full next day.  The most important day September 10th - Plenary opening, introduction, working in Groups. The Theme of congress was: "The responsibility of Nobles towards Modern Society: Challenge or Obligation?".

A  Ecumenical service was held in 'Deutsche Evangelische Kirche and Farewall coffee was served on the last day.
